The Perfect Tree - November 29th

Dave decided we needed a real tree this year.  While I'm perfectly content with artificial trees that are conveniently prelit, I decided to give the whole real tree thing a try.  So after searching for a few places to go, we decided on Dappen Tree Farms, which is very close to our house.

Apparently I forgot to tell Dave he needed to dress like he was in an LL Bean catalog.

We spent a lot of time looking for the best tree.  Of course all of the trees I liked were WAY too big.

Sam had fun playing hide and seek.  I did not enjoy hunting for a three-year-old in the middle of hundreds of Christmas trees.  And of course he's camouflaged to match perfectly.

After quite a bit of hunting, we decided on this adorable tree because it wasn't too big and was a lovely shape.

The awesome staff at Dappen Tree Farm came, cut it down, and then drove it back down to the shop for us.

After we got home, we got the tree inside.  We discovered it wouldn't fit properly in the tree stand, which led to a bit of trunk trimming.

I give you our majestic Christmas tree ...

I guess it's more of a Christmas shrub.  But it's ours and we love it.  And I crack up hysterically every time I walk by it, so at least it's good for that.
