As part of Month of the Young Child, the boys had game day at school.  We had a fun time!

Sunday Funday - March 30

Before leaving the hotel, the boys and I grabbed some breakfast.  I had asked Henry 10 times if he wanted to swim.  Every time he said no.  I guess our trip down to breakfast reminded him how fun the pool was, because he insisted on swimming again before we left.

Sammy didn't want to join him, but he didn't care.

After our swim, we stopped by Mom's house and then met Dani, Brad, and Linc at the park to celebrate Linc's actual birthday.

This child is entirely too brave.  He kept saying, Mommy, let go and take my picture.  Eek!

We grabbed some fro-yo before heading back to Council Bluffs.

Henry wanted a cheeseburger.  I asked Sam if he wanted one.  He said yes.  I got to the window, handed Sam his drink, and then turned around to grab his food.  To my surprise, when I tried to hand him the cheeseburger he wanted, he was totally zonked out.

Happy Birthday Linc!

Lincoln LOVES tractors, so to celebrate turning 2, he had a John Deere party.  The boys and I showed up early to help decorate and get things ready.   I got the cake assembled with plenty of time to spare -- including recovering from a brief emergency which occured because Emmett decided to sample a tractor wheel!

ICRA's spring seminar was the same day as Lincoln's party, so I left Dave and the boys to celebrate at the party while I drove to Newton for our seminar.   I did stop on the way to grab a snack.  These always make me smile.   Good memories of our childhood.   My grandpa used to work for O'Brien's, so they've been a snack staple in our lives.

The spring seminar was great!   We got to view the location of the new court reporting program, which was very exciting.

And of course the best part of the day was that I got to see my friends.  We had a quick
birthday dinner for Brook before we all had to head home.    It was a nice end to a very busy Saturday!

Ankeny Birthday Weekend - March 28th

Friday the boys and I loaded up and drove to Ankeny to help Danielle get ready for Lincoln's party.  Because there was a lot of company in town, the boys and I stayed at a hotel.   They thought that was the best thing ever!

I bought some fun pool toys, and we pretty much enjoyed the pool to ourselves.  The giant shark did result in Henry being briefly stuck in the elevator, which will probably leave him
traumatized for life.

Dani and Linc came over to join us for a swim before we went back to their place to make cupcakes and watch the Cyclones.

Megan and Brandon brought Great Plains, which was EXCELLENT!   It's one of the few foods I miss from Ames.  Was great to be able to enjoy it without having to actually go to town.

Henry had to test the cupcakes to make sure they were good enough for the party.  He approved.

We enjoyed snuggling and watching Oso back at our hotel room.

Clarinda - March 24th

I had to cover in Clarinda for another reporter on a Monday.  The worst part of Page/Fremont motion day isn't the four-hour drive, but the fact that we have to get up CRAZY early.  Sammy didn't make it to naptime.  He fell asleep on the table.  Poor baby!

Go Cyclones!
