Sunday at the Park

I promised the boys this morning I would take them to the park this afternoon.  Sadly I ended up with a headache and took a two-hour nap.  After supper, we managed to get a short visit to the park in before dark.

Henry was pushing me "presto" at the park.  Thanks Little Einsteins!

Vala's Pumpkin Patch - September 27th

Thursday evening Mom texted and mentioned that if I wasn't busy Saturday, maybe we could go to Vala's.
HAPPY DANCE!
Vala's is absolutely my favorite fall place to play.
Linc and Dani were able to join us this year for the first time as well.

This year because we got a late start, we grabbed lunch first!

Next we went over to ride the ponies.  All the boys did great.  It was a little stressful for Grandma, but she survived as well.

After the ponies, we crossed the bridge over to ride the train.

Next on the list was the bouncy pillows.  I think this is Henry's FAVORITE activity.

Following the bouncy pillows, we went to the corn pool.

I have an app on my phone that shows me pictures from various times.  It just so happens that a year ago today, we were at Vala's!  It was fun to compare the pictures from last year to this year.  I really was tempted to ask the boys to switch spots so the pics was the same, but it's hard enough getting them to cooperate when there are a million fun things around, so I let that one go.

I love all the photo ops available!  And the kids think it's fun too, which always lends itself to excellent pictures!

It was VERY warm out, so after a few other small stops for slides and tractors, we went over and enjoyed some frozen custard.

The giant chicken was new this year.  I'm sure it's a sign I should be a chicken farmer.

We didn't feed any of the smaller animals, but the boys all thought feeding the camel was really cool!!

Our next big stop was the big slide.  I lost count of how many times we did them.

After we finished sliding, we told the kids it was time to head out, so we all slowly managed to head towards the front gate.  Henry was mad because he still had energy and wanted to do things!  We probably managed to see about 1/8th of the activities at Vala's.

After a few more snacks and picking out some pumpkins, we started our drive home.

Everyone had a fabulous time.  Our 4 hours we spent at Vala's were VERY enjoyable.

After Vala's, we met up in town for a yummy dinner at La Mesa and then an evening swim at the hotel.

So happy that it worked for Mom and Dani and Linc to join us for a very fun fall day.  Thanks for making the trek over to play with us!!

Rodeo! - September 25th

I LOVE fall.  One of my favorite traditions I've been able to share with the boys is attending the River City Roundup Aksarben rodeo.  It's held each year at the end of September.  It's our official kickoff to Autumn each year.
This year Dave was able to join us.

We arrived early so the boys could check out the animals in the exhibit area.

Then we got our snacks and headed to our seats.

We decided to sneak out early since it was a school night and Sam and I had a very early morning the next day with the PAC bake sale.

Another fun year in the books.  Looking forward to next year already!
