Christmas Eve - Stoops Family Christmas

Christmas Eve had an early start!  After falling asleep with the boys, I was wide awake at 4 a.m.  Since I was already up, I volunteered to take Casey to the airport for her 6 a.m. flight.  Sam woke up while I was in the shower, so he decided to tag along as well.

After getting back, the boys watched Super Why while I tried to recover from sleep deprivation.  Henry came over at some point and was upset because he "accidentally" touched Shelfie -- who I forgot to move! -- so after Shelfie and I talked, Shelfie said Henry could touch him the rest of the day without worrying about his magic going away.

Sam took a great nap in the afternoon, which I was VERY thankful for!

After his nap, we loaded up the car and went to the family service at St. Paul in Ankeny.  It was a great service, and we got to sit up in the balcony between the organ and the bell choir.

After church, we went over to Brad and Dani's for dinner and gifts.  Kellie got stuck working, but she did send homemade truffles and taco dip for us to enjoy.

Freddie and Shelfie hung out and enjoyed each other's company.

We did a little more Christmas crafting.

Dave got a few gift cards to Bass Pro ... because apparently that's what I told everyone he wanted.  Ha!   Hopefully he really wanted them, since he got four.

Kellie made a delicious peppermint dessert.

Then Linc OD's on the truffles.

After Dave and the boys left to go to Ames and Lincoln was asleep, we busted out Cards Against Humanity.  At some point it was just fun to give Mom the most awkward cards to read.

We've made it through another year.   Merry Christmas!
