Henry Turns 5 - March 6th

I was so excited for Henry's birthday!   I bought stuff to make him birthday pancakes with star sprinkles and bacon for breakfast.  Sadly he wasn't feeling well, so I gave up on that plan.    Ever since Henry was born, he's been extremely close with Mammie.  What a lucky little kiddo!   She came to visit from Arizona and stayed for five days to celebrate Henry's birthday with him.

I always take vacation on Henry's birthday to spend the day with him, but I decided this year since Mammie was here,  I would work and let the two of them spend the day together on their own.

Henry was feeling better by lunch, so they went to town and enjoyed spaghetti at Fazoli's.  They also went to Kohl's and got a new fun Mario toy and Angry Bird pajamas.

Henry had been talking about going swimming for weeks for his birthday, so we made a quick trip over to ISD to enjoy their indoor pool.   He had a great time!

After our swim, we went to La Mesa.  Henry has always wanted to go and have them sing Happy Birthday to him, but for some reason, it has never worked out.  This year was no exception.  The birthday boy passed out before his dinner even arrived.

We carried him to the car.  Of course once in the car, he was wide awake again.  We grabbed some Artic Rushes (Mr. Misty for anyone over the age of 25!) from DQ on the way home.

Henry opened his gift from Mammie and his gift from us.

I think he had a pretty fun birthday!     Hard to believe this little peanut is already 5.   Seems like just yesterday he was only this big.

The End of Four -- March 5th

Can't believe this little guy is going to be 5!   Time flies.

Birthday Fun - Sort of - March 2

After my awesome time in Oksy, I had planned to come back and celebrate Dave's birthday with the kids at Sempeck's with bowling, laser tag, and go carts.  I pulled my phone out of my pocket after I arrived home to text my mom about the amazing bloody mary's I had in Oksy and managed to shatter my screen.   UGH!

After a late start on the road, we decided to try to find a screen protector to make my phone useable until Dave could replace the screen.  After stopping at Radio Shack and two Verizon stores, we decided we probably didn't have time to go out to Sempeck's, due to it being nearly an hour away.

We decided to grab dinner as planned at Guaca Maya, Dave's favorite Mexican restaurant in Omaha.

We had to get their amazing flaming cheese dip!  So good.

After a thoroughly amazing dinner, we called the local bowling alley.  Thankfully they had open bowling, so we decided to save the trip to Sempeck's for a day when we had more time.

Our first family bowling trip was pretty darn fun!

Amazing form, Henry!   He bowls just like Aunt Dani!

I'm really glad my children didn't beat me.  I'm guessing next time I may not be so lucky.  Henry has asked about 10 times when we are going bowling again.  He must have enjoyed himself.

What birthday celebration would be complete without ice cream -- well, fro-yo!   Orange Leaf was the perfect ending to our day!     We did manage to find a screen protector at Target afterward, so my phone issue was resolved.  Guess everything worked out!

Reunited!! - March 1

After being apart entirely too long, I FINALLY got to spend a weekend with two of my favorite people!   Sarah and I made a quick trip over to Osky to visit with Brook and meet Bond!

We had a fabulous lunch and got to celebrate St. Patrick's Day a little early!   As always, time passes entirely too quickly when we are together.  Can't wait to do it again!  I'm penciling St. Patrick's Day in Oksy in on my 2015 calendar!  :)

Rufi Control!!   :)

Happy, Sad, Mad, Silly - February 27th

Wacky Wednesday - February 26th

The kids have been celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday this week.  They got to dress up for Wacky Wednesday.  Sam wore his Larry costume all day!   I had to pry it off him for bedtime.

Finally Sticky Snow - February 20th!

Each time it has snowed this winter, Henry has begged to make a snowman.   Each time I have tried to explain that the snow isn't sticky and we can't make a snowman.

Today we got rain and a few inches of snow.  It was melty and sloppy and gross, but it was also sticky!  We got home from school and Henry went to sit down and play birds.  I snuck out back to  test the snow.  We had an internet line put in this fall, so the backyard was a bit muddy.  The snowballs for the snowman were yellow from the dead grass and full of leaves, but we managed to smash a bit of white snow over the top.

Thankful we got to make a snowman this year.  Spring can officially begin!  Looks like a high of 49 tomorrow, which is okay with us!
